National Officer Election Protest Update

On August 8, 2016, the National Officer Election concluded and the results were posted, which allowed for a ten-day protest period per Article VII, Section 10 of the AMFA Constitution. The National Director received multiple protests within the proper timeframe. The National Executive Council (NEC) was tasked with completing an investigation, and ultimately making a determination on the validity of the submitted protests.

The NEC officers whose positions were not being contested (Region I and Region II Directors) conducted the investigation with all due diligence and legal advice, and they presented their findings to the NEC at a meeting yesterday. Their investigation found that the protests were invalid, and the NEC voted to uphold the election per the AMFA Constitution.

Thank you for your patience in this process. The National Officers Elect will be sworn into office on October 3, 2016, at the National Office in Aurora, CO, and will begin their four year terms. The current NEC would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve. Thanks and take care.

On Behalf of the NEC,

Justin Madden
National Secretary/Treasurer
